Our Story
Hi, I’m Dr. Joe Kommunuri, founder of Ellipse Skin New Zealand, and an accredited Skin Cancer Doctor with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. I’ve spent almost a decade working in skin cancer medicine and surgery in both the hospital and community settings. What has really moved me was seeing how common — and preventable — skin cancer is here in New Zealand. I have found that early detection really does save lives. And that is not an exaggeration. That’s why I started Ellipse Skin NZ: to give every day Northland Kiwis easy access to expert, early skin cancer detection in a calm, welcoming setting.
Along with our accredited nurses and highly trained staff, our clinics in Kerikeri, Whangārei, and Mangawhai offer full-body skin checks and spot checks using the latest AI technology — the same tools used in major dermatology centres.
