Meet Joe
Hi, I’m Dr. Joe Kommunuri - founder of Ellipse Skin New Zealand and an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. I’ve spent almost a decade working in skin cancer medicine and surgery in both the hospital and community settings. What has really moved me was seeing how common — and preventable — skin cancer is here in New Zealand. I have found that early detection really does save lives (and that is not an exaggeration). That’s why I started Ellipse Skin NZ: to give every day Northland Kiwis easy access to expert, early skin cancer detection in a calm, welcoming setting.
Along with our accredited nurses and highly trained staff, our clinics in Kerikeri, Whangārei, and Mangawhai offer full-body skin checks and spot checks using the latest AI technology — the same tools used in major dermatology centres.
We see all sorts of people — sun-lovers, mums and dads, farmers, teens, retirees. You don’t need to have “a problem” to come in. If you’ve got skin, you’ve got a reason to get it checked – from someone who knows exactly what to look for.
